An extensive literature assessment is done and it is obvious that the
methods are accessible for Ranitidine. HPLC is very expensive instrument
and are not available in every laboratory. While UV/Visible
spectrophotometer is a common instrument of all pharmaceutical
analytical laboratory. Spectrophotometric analysis methods available for
Ranitidine are tedious, time consuming and not much sensitive in term of
precision and accuracy. It becomes essential to develop new rapid and
cost effective methods that spectrophotometric determination would be
simple, accurate, precise and sensitive. The newly developed analytical
methods can be used in research institutions, Quality control in
pharmaceutical industries, Approved testing laboratories and
Bioequivalence studies.
