between political upheaval and the making of art Uprisings is based on a
cross-disciplinary exhibition on the theme of collective emotions and
political events involving crowds of people in revolt: social disorder,
political agitation, uprisings, rebellions, revolutions, and riots -
disturbances of all kinds. The book investigates the notion of the
representation of the peoples in both the aesthetic and the political
senses of the word 'representation'. The notion of uprising is dealt

engravings, photographs, and films. Particular attention is paid to

Goya, Courbet, Victor Hugo 2. Riots, Movement of Insurgency - includes
