The students in the final year are in a hurry to join the corporate
world. They are ready to jump but have no idea about where and how. So
much advice is poured by most unlikely people, it does not help. The
student is confused, feels low, and in most cases angry and resistant to
any advice. The trust-building by the Trainer is paramount.
Instead of teaching what is to be done, it helps to reduce the
instruction load. There cannot be an instant Pygmalion effect and it is
not needed. A finetuning exercise in training, in which the student
actually goes through the placement process, helps more than anything
else. Simple tips to get a placement help more than elaborate training,
which more often than not increases feelings of inadequacy.
You can do it....... is the magic line.
