Restoration repair of tooth structures, do not stop caries, have a
finite life span and are susceptible to disease. Therefore a shift has
been identified from management of dental caries towards improved
diagnosis of non-cavitated, incipient lesion and treatment for
prevention and arrest of such lesion. One of the most powerful tool or
weapon that has been proved beyond doubt, to control and prevent dental
caries in past 50 years is Fluoride. Various modalities i.e. water
fluoridation; fluoride dentifrices, mouth rinses, varnishes and gel etc
have played a significant role in decline of dental caries in western
world and other developed countries. This work examined the
caries-inhibiting effect of a topically applied APF gel. This book is
very useful for students in general and dental and public health
professional in particular to seek and provide preventive care for
children.
