It is the first time that the Israelite anthroponomy of the biblical
period is studied on the basis of all available sources. Furthermore,
for the first time attention is paid not only to the morphology and the
grammatical structure of the proper names, but also to the
prosopography. The work presents itself as a grammar, a dictionary, and
a historical study, and the name of its author, widely known for other
studies of the same kind, is a guarantee of seriousness and deepness.
