"Orphan Angel" is a novel by Elinor Wylie. Wylie was an great admirer of
the British Romantic poets, particularly Shelley. In "Orphan Angel", she
imagines an alternate death for Shelley who, in her version of events,
is rescued at sea by an American ship and taken to America to reflect on
the American scene. Highly recommended for those with an interest in
Romantic poetry and Wylie's accomplished work. Elinor Morton Wylie
(1885-1928) was an American novelist, poet, and poetry editor of "Vanity
Fair" magazine between 1923 and 1925. Her life was one of scandal, and
she gained notoriety for her numerous marriages and affairs. This
