It is a classic Victorian era mystery thriller, written by author Wilkie
Collins, published in 1875. The story is all about the mystery solving
efforts of Valeria Woodville. Valeria Briton marries to Eustace
Woodville facing the opposition of his family. While she is ready to go
on her honeymoon trip, she discovers some secrets of her husband's past
life. He doesn't want to discuss the things, they postpones their
honeymoon. She came to know that he has been using a false name
Woodville, his real surname is Macallan. He is a married man and accused
of poisoning his first wife. Feeling ashamed he is hiding his true
identity. Due to unproven verdict, he is a suspecting culprit, neither
convicted nor cleared. Valeria trusts him so she decides to prove her
husband's innocence. She sets out to find out the truth with the help
from her true old friend and mother-in-law. Even though Eustace doesn't
co-operate Valeria, she has incredible love, strength and determination.
