The three distinguishing features of the works are: a) the subject of the ideology and its interpretation in the Ottonian kingdom; b) the reception and re-evaluation of the Ottonian history in the later age (mainly nineteenth and twentieth century German scholarship); c) extensive use of various medieval texts, which combined with methodology based on comparative approach provided the rich historical argumentation for the established theses.
