This volume contains the complete, original sheet music for Cecil
Forsyth's "The Bell-Man", a musical composition for piano and voice.
Cecil Forsyth (1870 - 1941) was an English composer and musicologist. He
played the viola in various orchestras after attending the University of
Edinburgh and Royal College of Music, where he studied together with
Hubert Parry and Charles Villiers Stanford. He is best remembered for
his operas "Westward Ho!" and "Cinderella", as well as the choral ballad
"Tinker, Tailor". He also published a number of books, including: "A
Study of English Opera" (1911), "Choral Orchestration" (1920), and "A
History of Music" (1916). This volume will appeal to those who enjoy
playing classical music, and it is not to be missed by collectors of
related literature. Many vintage books such as this are becoming
increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now
in a modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially commissioned
new introduction and biography of the composer.
