This publication is unique in that it focuses on the volunteers from
Aberdeen who made their way to Spain to fight against fascism in the
1930s. From the Granite City, 19 men went to Spain, five were killed in
action. The book unashamedly highlights, with photographs, some of the
volunteers from Aberdeen, memorials to those who fought and died in the
conflict. A selection of the propaganda posters and unique,
never-before-seen photographs of tributes to the ubiquitous Bob Cooney.
