As a - now retired - teacher I've been dealing with fiction in one form or another for many years and am constantly on the lookout for short stories that are engaging, relatively quick to read and instantly accessible - in my experience, not so easy to come across as one might imagine. My approach has always been to address this apparent gap in the market; at times, adopting a style close to the traditional fable or folk-tale or veering only slightly from it. If you've an eye for a 'short story' that is...short...has no qualms about telling a simple tale... You may care to give these a try... Occasionally dark...occasionally light...occasionally (hopefully) amusing...hopefully (always) accessible! Written in a range of styles and in a variety of settings... Aimed at anyone with an eye for such tales and without the need to be too uplifted by the things they read... DW
