Sustained shared thinking is the latest publication in the Key Issues
series aimed at helping practitioners deliver the objectives of Every
Child Matters. This book tackles the interesting and challenging area of
developing children's thinking skills and finding ways of providing
opportunities for sustained shared thinking. The first part of the book
covers the theory and research behind thinking skills highlights the
links that exist with relevant curriculum guidance documents. Part two
provides a range of different practical ideas and experiences which can
be used to challenge and extend children's thinking, including some
examples of 'challenge cards' suitable for use with older children.
