William Henry Hudson (1841-1922) was an Argentinian ornithologist and
nature writer. "Story of a Piebald Horse" is a short story and part of
his fantastic "South American Romances" series. This colourful tale will
appeal to those with an interest in south American culture and folklore,
and it is not to be missed by fans of Hudson's work. Other titles in the
series include: "El Ombu", "Marta Riquelme", and "Nino Diablo". Other
notable works by this author include: "Argentine Ornithology"
(1888-1899), "British Birds" (1895), and "Hampshire Day" (1903). Many
vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. It is
with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an
affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a
specially-commissioned new biography of the author.
