How many ways can you be set free?
This original collection of short stories and flash fiction was written
by students from The Priory School, Hitchin, for World Book Day
2022.
Delve into the diverse genres and themes explored in their work,
including prison escapes, short stories about addiction, and tales told
from the perspectives of outcasts and loners as they rise up against
their oppressors.
So sit down, try to relax, and escape into their fantasy world. Set your
imagination free.
Set Free is dedicated to the countless young readers and writers in the
UK and around the globe, many of whom have faced mental and physical
challenges since the global pandemic hit in 2021 and locked down
societies around the world. In particular, these stories reflect the
experiences of students who suddenly found themselves kept at home and
unable to connect physically with other students except through
cyberspace. Even throughout the writing process of this anthology,
uncertainties remain; however, the resilience of this generation is a
testament to the strength of the human character and the stories based
around the theme of breaking free could not be more apt for 2022 and
beyond.
