Clay Wade proved to be one of the toughest men you don't want to mess
with if you want to live to tell about it. He and a couple of his
friends spent two months in the Great Smokey Mountains tracking down a
gang of outlaws. After seeing them captured and hanged they returned to
Texas to find their ranch raided, the house ransacked and several horses
stolen, including two of Clay's prize stallions. Clay hit the trail in
Dewitt County, Texas, followed it through four states, blizzards, and
thieves with someone trying to kill him at every crook and turn. After
trailing the thief for three months, it finally ended in Wyoming, in a
killing winter blizzard and a gun battle, leaving one man dead and
another seriously wounded.
