In Portraits of Hindutva: From Harappa to Ayodhya, the author traces the
growth of what has today become a deeply polarizing issue. He recounts
events which shaped the phenomenon and personalities that were its
torchbearers and explores the evolution of Hindutva from religious to
spiritual to political, spanning a period beginning from the
Indus-Saraswati civilization, and rounding it off with the demolition of
the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.
