ScienceWiz(R) Online Discovery Magnetism Magnetism: This kit includes color coded magnets. With this color coding, children can discover for themselves how magnets attract and repel. The Magnetism kit includes a highly visual, full color, step-by-step, 40 page science book, multiple magnets, a compass and iron filings, as well as other materials. This Online Discovery version also includes a flip-book with embedded animations, videos, games, additional projects and interactive simulations.

There are 22 projects in Magnetism, INCLUDING:

• Testing which objects stick to magnets and which do not
• Attracting, repelling and floating with magnets
• Discovering whether ALL metals stick to magnets
• Detecting which metal objects contain iron
• Making and exploring with a compass
• Determining which windows are facing North and which are facing South
• Using iron filings to visualize the lines of force
• Figuring out that magnetic force works through materials
  including cardboards, water, wood and even the entire Earth.
• Making a temporary magnet from a permanent magnet.

Finally, they make an electromagnet, learn how to turn it on and off, and how to flip its poles. With this knowledge, they are on their way to understanding how electric motors work.

The kit includes a handle box for easy storage and transport.
