Coastal lagoon acts as a paradise for a range of creatures, which are
not only an essential resource for human life and productive activities
but also play a significant role in the biogeochemical and hydrological
cycles. The study aimed at make out the long-term lagoons' morphological
variations with modelling the relationships between the various
physico-chemical factors and biological parameter in order to study the
morphological and biogeochemical status of Pulicat lagoon, India and
proclaiming an environmental management plan for the lagoon. The
measures for sustainable management of Pulicat considering the
complexity in the distribution of the nutrients were suggested.
