In the Treaty on the Moriscos of Spain, a manuscript written around 1605, Pedro de Valencia, a Spanish humanist born in Zafra in 1555 and died in Madrid in 1620, proposes four alternatives to the expulsion of the Moriscos, a measure that was finally imposed during the reign of Philip III between 1609 and 1614.
