As the name indicates, KOINON is a journal that encourages contributions
to the study of classical numismatics from a wide variety of
perspectives. The journal includes papers concerning iconography, die
studies, provenance research, forgery analysis, translations of excerpts
from antiquarian works, specialized bibliographies, corpora of rare
varieties and types, ethical questions on laws and collecting, book
reviews, and more. The editorial advisory board is made up of members
from all over the world, with a broad range of expertise covering
virtually all the major categories of classical numismatics from archaic
Greek coinage to late Medieval coinage.
