Kaizen" is a tool, originally used by Toyota, to promote continuous
improvement in its production system. It is currently used all over the
world by various organizations that have adapted it to their needs and
customs. An approach in the public sector can be considered novel and
innovative, even more so when methodologies and guidelines are defined
that contribute to the improvement of this type of organizations as in
the case of this book.The title of the book "Kaizen Model for efficiency
in public institutions in Ecuador" is highly suggestive. After reading
it, it is evident that the combination of knowledge to which the authors
are dedicated in their research and teaching work has been key to
produce a book that is useful for those interested in public management,
as well as quality management and productivity.The authors materialize
in this work their extensive experience in different public institutions
in which they were able to identify efficiency problems that affected
productivity, as well as the quality of care and services to citizens,
the raison d'être of this type of organizations.
