In this swingin' original, K. G. Cape Town, the wind parts whirl over a
repetitive bass line while drums alternate between solo and
accompaniment figures. South African music merges with modern jazz
sounds. A short open solo section gives everyone a chance to improvise
over easy changes. Part 1 is playable by flute, oboe, violin, guitar,
clarinet, trumpet, soprano, or alto saxophone; Part 2 is playable by
alto or tenor saxophone; Part 3 is playable by trombone, tenor, or
baritone saxophone. The compositions have been written for flexible wind
ensembles, containing C, E-flat and B-flat parts. The rhythm section can
be composed of bass, percussion and wind instrument. For musicians with
basic knowledge of jazz harmony.
