Rose learns the hard way of what true love really is. Thanks to her
budgerigars, she learns about pethood and the true meaning of it, about
the relationship between human beings and animals. The love we feel for
our pets is a given. The feelings a puppy or a fluffy kitten give us may
be genuine and difficult to be denied. However, can we talk about love?
Are those feelings truly what unconditional love means or entitles?
Well, despite Rose's strong bond between her and her birds, an awakening
awaits her as she learns throughout the most painful yet significant
learning experiences, that love is not about possession, it is about
freedom. She becomes aware of the fact that animals have rights and the
most important of all is the right to be loved by their status of being,
not objects to be traded off as commodities.
