The three islands (Abu Musa - Great Tunb - Lesser Tunb) are located in
the southernmost province of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Hormozgan
Province, with its headquarters in Bandar Abbas, in the south of Iran
and in the north of the Strait of Hormuz. Its borders extend east to the
Oman Sea and west to the Persian Gulf, Hormozgan Province With an area
of 71,193 square kilometers, it accounts for 3.4% of the country's total
area.* Great Tunb Island The island is about 11 square kilometers south
of Qeshm Island which extends south to Abu Musa Island, east to the Oman
Sea and west to Tomb, with a distance of 31 kilometers to Qeshm, 13
kilometers to Tomb. Abu Musa is 50 kilometers.
