Indiscriminate use of insecticides did not only cause resistance to
several insects pests of different crops but it also affected several
predators. However Chrysoperla carnea has shown some tolerance to
several groups of insecticides in the field but very little informations
are available on insecticides resistance in C. carnea. The resistant C.
carnea could help to design IPM strategy for several insect pests. Hence
several studies were performed in our laboratory to establish if the
predator was resistant to insecticides and if the resistance can
increase the fitness of C. carnea. Therefore the data generated in our
laboratory is being presented in this book. This book will not only give
information on monitoring resistance in the field but also presents data
on the predatory potential of insecticides resistant and susceptible C.
carnea. In one of the chapter of life table parameter will explain
whether resistant C. carnea can be used along side insecticides to
enhance insect pest management in the field.
