When winter comes, Hedgehog is worried that the other animals
might need help staying warm, so he sets out to check on everyone.
But he soon learns that his friends all have their own ways of staying
cozy in the cold. The insects are huddled close together in a
log. The crayfish and frogs are all tucked in under the ice at
the bottom of the river. The mice, chipmunks, and moles are
in their underground tunnels. And some of the animals, like the fox
and hare who have fur to keep them warm, aren't tucked away anywhere
for the winter! Back matter includes facts about winter, and a fun
activity.
