In addition to flavored foods available in market today, apart from
taste and appearance, we had an aim to have an approach towards snacks
and common foods to improvise them in a healthy way. As a result, we
have tried to incorporate nutraceuticals and probiotics into snacks and
common foods. Nutraceuticals are products derived from food sources that
are purported to provide extra health benefits, in addition to the basic
nutritional value found in foods. Depending on their functioning,
products may claim to prevent chronic diseases, improve health, delay
the aging process, increase life expectancy, or support the structure or
function of the body. These products were tested for microbial analysis
to observe the growth and composition of useful bacteria, also we have
tested the functioning of bacteria in a few foods. So, our study here is
about incorporating different kinds of nutraceuticals that are available
in common foods into snacks, so that they will be available as rich
sources of protein sources to man at ease. The experiments that have
been carried out so far, have been successfully prepared.
