Russia has approximately 15% of the planet's mineral and raw material
potential, accounting for only 3% of its world population. The country
is far ahead of most developed countries in terms of resources per
capita. It would seem that Russia has unique opportunities for
developing its economy. However, opportunities are one thing, and the
real reality is another. Today the private sector owns almost the entire
oil industry, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, logging and timber
processing, light and food industries. The transfer to private hands of
energy, railway transport, military industrial complex, land sale has
begun. The country's leadership, with the advent of the world oligarchy,
says that the state should have as little property as possible in its
hands. Among other things, in recent years, huge financial amounts have
been secretly, openly or half-open at the level of government agencies.
