In this new East African folktale, Baku has run out of friends and has been banished from his village.Baku needs Taki's help with curing the Mighty One, leader of all crocodiles, who is very ill. Taki knows Queen Monkey is very wise and most certainly will solve their problem, so they seek her help. Through it all, the two learn lessons about helping others, trust, forgiveness, and what it takes to be a real friend.Harriette J. Arrington is a storyteller and teacher. African folktales are her favorites. She is a native of Newport News, Virginia and was an educator in Virginia for many years. She is currently an associate professor at the University of Kentucky. She lives in Lexington with her son, Jaime, her mom, Dr. Frances Johns, and their dog, Exit. Dr. Arrington is also the author of The Heart of a Friendship.JoAnn Kitchel has illustrated many children's books, including The Heart of a Friendship, the story that first introduced young readers to Taki and Baku. JoAnn lives with her husband, Christopher Hipp, who is also an illustrator. They share a home in New Hampshire.
