These poems are mainly written in the folk spirit. I have discussed what
I mean by 'folk spirit' in my essay: 'the Folk Nature, Folk Spirit and
Folk Soul of Human Beings. I refer to it there as the spirit of
togetherness and decent fellowship, as it endows us with an instinctive
'feel' for communality. I refer to our 'folk nature' as human naturally
affectionate and comforting. It might also help to keep in mind that
this is not a collection but more like a series of poems, documenting
creatively a period of personal development over about half a year.
Reading the poems in order might therefore be one way of benefitting
from them.
