Root canal treated teeth are usually weak because of loss of tooth
structure due to dental decay, loss of moisture and root canal treatment
per se. Hence, salvage of such a root canal treated tooth presents
dilemma to the clinician. Over the last few years, concept of post and
core has flourished in different dimensions. This is required before
placement of a crown over such mutilated teeth. The remaining tooth
structure height and configuration can play an important role in the
strength of the final restorative outcome. This book, therefore,
provides an insight into the effects of the height and the uniformity of
the circumferential ferrule during cast post and core restoration. This
is especially useful to practising dental professionals and restorative
dentists.
