The book is expected to support Forest and Wildlife Managers in
maintenance of spatial databases for forests, wildlife and allied

forest department to digital domain. The need for combination of expert
knowledge with databases for generating Ecological Status Models, to
enhance management capability, has been emphasised. Importance of the

Models to facilitate Decision Making under certainty and orientation of

elaborations on compilation and combination of ecological information
and use of modern tools and technology for development of Planning and
Management Support Systems for forests and Protected Areas. The book is
expected to serve as a handbook for realignment of attitude, aptitude
and organisational capacity of the forest department and development of
Human Resource Development Strategy, for orientation of staff towards
conducive technology-use and development of its application potential in
the country.
