India is the second largest producer of vegetable next to China. Cowpea
is one of the most important leguminous vegetable crop. The area is
increasing day by day under Cowpea crop, however, no suitable variety/
genotype is available to fulfill the present demand in case of the
maximum yield with better quality. If we consider, the world scenario of
cowpea production, India is far behind in productivity. So the increase
in the production of cowpea is being possible by using best variety in
most suitable time. Considering the productivity trends there is a need
to increase the cowpea production by introducing new genotypes by sowing
at different times. This book contains valuable knowledge in crop
science, plant genetics, crop physiology, horticulture, and other
relevant disciplines. This book will be of significant interest to
advanced undergraduate and post-graduate students of Horticulture, Plant
physiology, Crop science, Plant genetics and rural development as well
as NGO workers and farmers.
