The study of the negative effects of chemical substances on living
organisms are studied under toxicology. The field also encompasses the
diagnosis and treatment of exposures of organisms to toxins and
toxicants, relationship of the dose with its effect as well as the
factors influencing toxicity of the chemical agent. Adverse reactions
generally depend on the route of exposure, dosage and factors of age,
sex, health, species, etc. Toxicity experiments can be conducted in
vivo, in vitro or in silico. This book aims to shed light on some of the
unexplored aspects of toxicology. It elucidates new techniques of
toxicology testing and their applications in a multidisciplinary
approach. In this textbook, constant effort has been made to make the
understanding of the difficult concepts of toxicology as easy and
informative as possible, for the readers.
