Nancy Astor and Nancy Lancaster were brought up at Mirador, the
Langhorne family house in Virginia, which was known for its superb food.
The recent discovery of the original recipes from the Mirador kitchens,
together with handwritten receipts from Cliveden, Ditchley Park and
Haseley Court, provides the basis for the book. Over 60 recipes,
including classics such as corn fritters, Southern fried chicken and
Pulman salad, combined with classic French and Britsih dishes, have been
adapted for the modern cook.
