Although service-learning and nursing would seem an obvious combination,
nursing, as a profession within academic, research, and health-care
organizations has only recently begun to embrace the true spirit of the
practice. The chapters in this book, fourth in the Service-Learning in
the Disciplines Series, are rich with information, both theoretical and
experiential, that describes ways in which nursing has begun to
incorporate service-learning as a methodology into many diverse settings
and with communities of interest.
