This new edition of "Breast Lumps" (which was first published in 1994)
provides updated information on both benign breast conditions and breast
cancer. The book has been substantially revised, particularly with
regard to the changes that have occurred in the treatment of breast
cancer during the last few years. It includes details of the recently
introduced guidelines for breast cancer treatment in the UK and
discusses all aspects of the management of breast lumps and the ways in
which this differs in the UK and USA. It is vital that women are
involved in the decisions made about their health and it is therefore
important that they have access to as much information as possible to
enable them to make the choices that are right for them.
It is hoped that this second edition of Breast Lumps will help women,
their families and carers to have a clear understanding of the various
breast conditions and that it will clarify specific aspects that women
may want to raise with their doctors and/or breast care nurses.
