Jacob is having a hard time when he goes up to bat. Everything was so
much easier when he practiced baseball in the backyard with his dad! Why
can he not be as confident as his teammates? He watches how well they do
when they are up to bat. He sure wishes that he were more like them. He
just can not seem to shake his fear.
Coach Quigley hollers for Jacob to keep his eye on the ball. His parents
and little sister are watching and cheering him on from the bench. Jacob
gets through another rough batting moment.
Then his teammate Bobby calls him and wants to let him in on a surprise;
Jacob is anxious to know what it is and is happy that Bobby wants to
talk to him.
What is Bobby's surprise? Will Jacob start to face his fear head on and
will the baseball season turn around after all?
