This book brings out the results from a sample of 350 households across
the States of West Bengal, Chhattisgarh and Gujarat to highlight the
importance of credit plus (versus minimalist) activities in livelihood
promotions. This study strongly advocates promotion of a careful and
healthy growth, besides observed complementarily, across public, private
and community initiatives in provision of credit as well as extension
services and avoidance of massive loan waiver schemes, which imposes a
lot of harms rather than producing beneficial effects for the targeted
group of population.
