The pages of this volume tell the story of Archimedes, the great
mathematician from ancient Greece who made decisive discoveries (such as
the law of the lever) and devised ingenious inventions such as the
catapult or the «Archimedes screw». The volume includes two illustrated
annexes: one which explains Archimedes' principle and the law of the
lever and a second one showing the development of the Punic Wars across
the Mediterranean.
