This volume presents an inventory of all seed, fruit and beverage
remains from 130 years of excavations in Hungary and stretching back
some 8000 years. Ferenc Gyulai's accompanying analysis traces the
history of archaeobotanical research in Hungary, reviews methodologies
for collecting, processing and identifying finds, and then presents a
comprehensive history of agriculture in Hungary. Aside from plant
cultivation, the discussion covers types of food and drink, and
nutritional aspects.
