A Local Habitation explores the impact of place, history and blood on a
sensibility painfully aware that it stands almost alone in the twilight
of a great tradition. Embracing the rhyme and long-established forms
from past eras, poet Seabrook Wilkinson plumbs the depths of personal
and collective history, which he uses to investigate the emotional
landscapes of his native South Carolina Lowcountry, Scotland, Key West
and the mountains of North Carolina.
