Most countries have been well-traveled and documented extensively. Saudi
Arabia isn't one of them. Shrouded in mystery, the country and its
people are relatively unknown to the rest of the world.
Alex Schlacher traveled the length and breadth of the Kingdom and was
enthusiastically welcomed by people eager to shine a light on their
fast-changing and increasingly modern nation.
The result is a collection of seventy portraits and stories of people
living in a vast country steeped in history and on the cusp of change -
from metalworkers to karate instructors, Schlacher beautifully captures
the people of Saudi Arabia.
